If you are moving long distance, sell your mattress and buy a new one when you get to your new home.

U-haul has a small enclosed trailer which is tall enough for a queen sized matress and box spring. They have one way rentals for the trailers msaning you can rent it in one city and drop it off in another. Probably less than 50 bucks for a one day use.
