How deep can i dig an outdoor sump pit and what do i use as a liner?

looking to buy a prefabed liner similar to a 55 gallon drum or something

of course u can dig as deep as the liner ur using, but when u hit water if that happens dont go further.....we use a grinder pump liner...u can get them at most plumbing supply houses.....its about 4 ft tall and 30 inches round and u can secure the lid to make it water tight....

we take and drill many 2 inch holes in the liner at random height...dig the hole 2 feet wider and deeper than the liner...put stone/rock in the bottom of the hole that will allow the liner to set at the right height for u....

set the liner in the hole, back fill around it with more stone, put 6 inches on stone inside the bottom of the liner, set the pump inside the liner on the 6 inches of rock.......

secure the lid with the power supply thru the top of the liner lid, and u got it!
