Can old photo negatives be transferred to a CD?

get a scanner with TP ( transparency ) attachment. scan the negatives just like any image. Burn on Cd.

Yes, they can. But the latest research shows that CD's and DVD's cannot hold images for more than about 5 to 6 years without losing quality. Negatives, however, can keep good quality for 25 to 50 years or more with proper storage. The next best storage to transfer to would be a magnetic storage medium like computer backup tape systems which might last 10 to 12 years without quality loss. The digital camera manufacturers are not going out of their way to inform people about image quality loss on home burned CD's and DVD's. I am personally switching back to my 35mm camera with film for things I really want to last until the CD quality loss issue is resolved.
