apartments in new york city?

i am planing to go to NYU but have pets so i can not stay in dorms (i know it makes me sad to) what is a rent price rang for 1-2 rooms 1 bath in the upper west side i am looking for low amount but i want it to be safe building

I live on the UWS and go to NYU. My 2br/1 bath is $2350 a month. It's not that cheap on the UWS, but you get more space. However, pets are not allowed in most of the apartments here. I don't see why as an incoming frosh you would so desperately need to have your pets with you. Live in a dorm. Don't miss out on making friends in college because of a cat.
