I live in a horse community. With that said, can you imagine what it's like to work on the house and having to go in & out.
When evening comes chase 'em into a lit room, they will roost on the ceiling. Dim the lights, then with the long tube on the vacuum, slowly approach from behind and suck 'em up. You'll get the hang of it. There no quick fix but keeping the doors closed. Also at the front door I had to mount a ceiling fan outside to keep 'em away. It's bad at different times of the year. good luck
The oil from orange peels kills 'em off. Just about anything with natural orange oil will do the job.
You can also look for Safer's Mosquito Patrol. Green plastic bottle that hooks to your garden hose to spray *outside* the house. It does a really good job of keeping all the flying critters away!
