Ok, is there a bat problem in Austin? Do they come out at night and bite people/pets who are outside?

We're thinking of relocating there, and possibly getting a home with a pool/hot tub, but I fear a lot of insects, rodents, etc., and am wondering if I'm going to have to keep my eye on the sky as I'm sitting in my hot tub at night? I heard you have to "bat proof" your home??????

Answers:
No bat problem. They eat insects. The bats are considered an asset to the Austin community. By the way, you will love it there.
