I'm looking to move down Southampton asap, does any1 no where i can find rented accommodation b4 i go?
Answers:
Try using Property Finder, they have a good search engine for rented accommodation.
Bitern or Hedge End is quite nice for families, avoid Portswood, Swaythling or Polygon... it's full of students.

Go to yourmove.co.uk - it's fantastic and has photos and maps of the places on the site as well as full descriptions and details of the deposit required etc etc.
Try looking for rental accommodation on Right Move.
Hi there
There are lots of free sites to help you ... free in that they do not charge landlords so it should mean you can get a better deal on finding somewhere to rent.
Depending on how soon you are looking I would recommend the site Simple2rent.co.uk but it will not launch until later in July. They not only provide free service to everyone but as a tenant you can save your property search preference, e.g. rooms, location, price, and they will email you as soon as a property is advertised matching that requirement.
Until then another sites which I have no affiliation with is rentamatic.co.uk. And another is gumtree.co.uk. The last one is free to advertise on so you should be able to negotiate a good deal.
Overall my advice is try as many different sites as you ... all mentioned by others who have answered your question and the ones I mention above. I am sure you will find what you are looking for on one of them.
Good luck.
