According to this chart it would be a double
The subsequent size up from twin is full, then queen, next king, then Darth Vader.
it sounds approaching a twin bed
A twin bed is 38". I am 99% sure that is a double bed.
it's a full.
It is a full, the actual size is 54x75, a twin is 39x75, a queen is 60x80, a king is 78x80, and a California king is 72x84. How do I know? I work for a company that make the sheets.
39" is a twin
54" is a full

ps...these are standard sheet sizes...sound close to it is a full.
This is definitely a full size bed, sometimes when the taper sew the mattress it gives the appearance of a smaller size.
Twins =39"x75"
Twin long= 39"x80"
Full = 54"x75"
Full long = 54"x80"
Queen = 60"x 80"
king = 75"x80"
Cal. King = 79"x80"
There are atypical size mattresses for bunk beds, hotels, hospital,ect.
