hang peacock feathers(two or three) at the places where geckos frequently turn up....in this way u can both decorate ur house as well as get rid of house geckos.
Why wound you want to get red of them? Geckos and lizards eat flys, spiders, etc. But if you really want to get rid of them, get a large, male cat. They will kill anything smaller than themselves.

I allow them actually but have never been over run by them. I live in Central FL,,, there are many of the critters here,,,,BUT there are also many other critters that the Geckos help control.
You might try not leaving doors open?
You can catch and release?
You can accept that they co exist and be mindful where you step.
