why are my tomatoe plants wilting they look as though they are dying?

Answers:
if your watering them during the day they are burning. The droplets are acting like magnifying glasses and over heating the plant. If your watering at night, you may be drowning them, cut back a bit.

Other answers:
it could be because there not the real thing now if you had a tomato plant rather than a tomatoe they might not wilt

you have to water tomato plants every day. and the hot weather does not help them.
Either they are not getting enough water or perhaps bugs are eatng them. We have those Japanese beetles here where I live and they're eating everything.
I'm going to guess that you have too much water on the plants. Cut back if you are manually watering them. If you mulched or placed grass clippings at the base of the plant, you should move those away so the roots can dry out.
A dont know why dont you ask them why there dying? Thanks for the 2 points - NEXT PLEASE!!!! lol
Could be that it's too hot and they need some more water. Keep them well fed as well.
Only water them in the morning when the sun isn't too high or before it gets too hot, or at night. Get some Miracle Grow or something simalar to that and use it. also make sure they aren't getting too much sun or too less. I have noticed you can get green tomatoes with less sun but in order for them to ripen put them in the sun.
Could be a fungus. Or could be other problems. Check the sites below for good info.
