Are you talking about Roly Poly bugs? The ones that roll up in a ball when you touch them? They are known as potato bugs in some parts. They are really named Sow Bugs. To tell you the truth they are not insects at all, they are actually cousins of the shrimp. They basically are around to eat dead and rotting things. You can find them under rotting wood and bricks. They are good for the garden, sorta like worms. They don't bite or sting, they are completely harmless.
They are suppose to be yummy to eat too, but never tried that.
I believe they were accidently left here from scientists visiting our planet from a galaxy far, far away!
