I live in phoenix az a.I have planted some cucumber plants they are ready to eat they seems to be bitter,?

before you peel them cut off the two ends.
then rub the ends on both sides of the exposed cucumber, keep doing this until no more white comes out of them.
then cut a thin slice off both ends this white stuff is the bitterness in the cuke
