Having lived beside both I prefer the lake. It is quieter- except for the echo from others parties across the lake. There are less people. B/c usually the people who live on the lake are in a community. Where as the people at the ocean come from everywhere. Plus there is more dangerous weather coming from the ocean. But the view of the ocean is better. It is also colder at night. I don't know, it's always a tough choice to make. I do know that on the lake I feel more at peace and can enjoy quiet time reading a book. But at the ocean it is just too busy.

Lake... usually this depends on the character of a person.. if you're a anti-social person like me you'll prefer closed up places where there are limits to everything if you're a social and open person you'd love to live near the sea where there is still a lot more to explore!

In my opinion, the sea. Then you can hear the sea. I find it relaxing on the normal day, and exhilerating during a storm.

I grew up on the sea coast and nothing has compared to that yet. The smell of salt fresh air the sound of fog horns the sound of the waves. Now my sorry butt lives in the desert.
