Lawn mower experts?

where can i find a complete tune-up booklet for a 4-year old Snapper 5hp quantem XM self-propelled wander behind mower?

Answers:    On the Snapper in that are 2 belts that are used in the drive system. One from the engine to the metal disc, and the other transfers power to the wheel from the rubber disk then the lever on the feel is engaged. So as far as the drive, the problem could be anywhere surrounded by that area. My bet would be the second belt or the rubber disc. Goto http://www.snapper.com and use the contractor locator to find your local dealer.

As far as the engine, Briggs have a good FAQ (http://faqs.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/faqs.cf... ) nearly common problems and assured ways to fix them. In looking it over, it has seriously of good information!

Hope this help! Good Luck!
I'm not familiar next to the self-propelled mechanism, but otherwise the just specification you need to verbs about that's expert to your model lawnmower is the exact spark plug gap setting, which you can attain by contacting the manufacturer or looking it up on their website. Otherwise, the conservation it requires is no different than that for any other lawnmower - change or verbs the air filter, drain and transformation the motor oil (use straight 30 weight), loose change the spark plug, clean the carburetor (with carburetor cleaner spray), flush the dated gas and other crap out of the gas tank, remove and sharpen the blade. The languish speed and gas mixture screws on your carburetor also necessitate to be set according the manufacturer's specifications, but if nobody ever tampered near them then you probably don't requirement to worry roughly those.

If the motor won't crank anymore, then it's possible that any the cylinder is clogged with grease that has seep inside, or moisture has cause the piston rings/cylinder to rust and they've frozen together (you should always spray a bit of "fogging oil" into the cylinder when you store a small engine away for a long time). Remove the spark plug and verbs the cord, if it still doesn't crank then spray a large dose of "PB Blaster" penetrating grease in through the spark plug hole to try to loosen the piston. Otherwise, possibly the pull cord have simply jammed and you'll have to disassemble the cringe mechanism and bear a look in near.
