The National Fire Protection guidelines and OSHA require that a CO2 unit be hydrostatic tested every five [5] years. Sometimes this test is more costly than purchasing a new unit.
Consider purchasing a new Halon unit. They cost a little more, have to be tested every ten[10} years and the Halon agent can be rated to cover ABC fires where as the CO2 unit is only rated as a BC.

Home Depot or lowes, will have small ones- there are companies that service them- call the Local Fire dept for some answers - they check them every so often in Commerial buildings, and can tell you where to get service.
Not every fire extinguisher company has the ability to recharge CO2 units. They have to have low pressure CO2 storage on site and if they do not have the ability to Hydrotest the unit will have to be shipped out and tested before recharge every 5 years.
Halongenated agents may present a better choice, but both CO2 and halogenated agents can be very expensive. Halogenated units don't come due for a hyrdotest until 12 years, but are subject to a six-year maintenance, that can also be costly.
Depending on your application, a gaseos agent extinguisher may or may not be your best choice.
