Why are my cucumbers turning yellow an dropping off?

When my cucumbers get about an inch long they turn yellow and fall off. What am I doing wrong?

<grin> Believe it or not those are the MALE cucumbers! Only the female ones will continue to grow and make fruit. You could also have a problem with pollination, just pick the male flowers and rub them into the female blooms to "knock 'em up" and get a full size cuke!
