how do you get rid of chipmunks around your bird feeders?

Rat traps baited with peanut butter. Works every time.

A pellet gun.
A shotgun with bird shot works pretty darn well. But if your feeder is on a pole, use some wheel bearing grease to prevent them from climbing. It has excellent water shedding properties. If you have a stray cat, you can contact the nearest animal shelter to ask if you can borrow a trap to catch it.
Donald duck- if that doesn't work- poison.
I heard spices work best. Put a little cayenne pepper, or some other Hot spice in with the bird food. Chipmunks and Squirrels hate it, and it doesn't even bother the birds! That should keep them out of your bird feeders...
my mother in law always used a 22, until the cops told her she couldn't. get one of those plastic squirrel guards, and put the feeder on a post at least 10' fron any tree branches. or get a miniature schnauzer, they chase everything out of the yard.
The chipmunks are not a real treat to the birds....
They are just after the food...
The cat..on the other hand is after the birds and the chipmunks FOR FOOD!
Best to get rid of the stray cat.....pretty easy...
The chipmunks....are entertaining at times...
Why not get CREATIVE..... Start playing a game with them..... by Building or Making your FEEDERS as chipmunk PROOF as possible....
