any tips on growing tomatoes, i have a greenhouse.?

Answers:
I dont think you dont need to flick the flowers as other answer say . I never do.
My only tricks are to:
1. water plenty,
2. nip out side shoots (a bit hard to describe, but youve got the main stem, OK, then look for "branches" (growing out at 90 degrees). Side shoots will grow up at 45 degrees bewteen the stem and the "branch". Pinch them out.
3. Use tomato fertiliser.

Other answers:
If you are using a greenhouse, you will need to self polinate the flowers, which are tiny tomatoes unformed. Simply take your finger and gently flick each flower until the pollen dust from the stamen comes off and dusts the flower inside.

1 plant deep up to 1st leaves in rich border soil not growbags(roots will come out of stem)
2 remove all sideshoots
3 ignore feeding instuctions on tomato food. instead divide the dosage up eg if it says 20ml once a week give 5 ml 4 times a week.
4 shake or tap plants to pollinate flowers some like to mist as well
5 if not ripening late in season remove the leaves
You are a bit late really, if you have not planted yet do not buy seed, you will need pot plants that are well on their way. Basically they are easy, just plant in grow bags or large pots in compost. Keep well watered and feed with liquid plant food (Tomorite or similar) when first truss is set. They need plenty sun but must not get dried out or they die. Moneymaker or Alisa Craig grow well in this country.
IN MY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY, NIGERIA, WE JUST SCATTER THE TOMATO SEEDS ON THE SOIL, AND THEY GROW.
SEEING THAT YOU HAVE A GREEN HOUSE, MY SUGGESTION WILL BE THAT YOU SCATTER THE SEEDS ON THE SOIL IN A FLOWER POT OR POLYTHENE BAG, WATER IT EVERY DAY UNTIL THEY GERMINATE AND GROW, AFTER WHICH YOU MUST APPLY MANURE TO THE SOIL. KEEP A CLOSE WATCH AS YOUR TOMATO BEGINS TO FLOURISH AND GROW BIGGER LEAVES AND EVENTUALLY BEAR TOMATO FRUITS!
If you want to use a grow bag, I suggest cutting the grow bag in hlaf, do you have 2 bags, each half the length of the original. stand them up on end, you will then have two tall plant pots, one plant in each, planted to the first leaves as has been said, keep well watered, and, once the first tomatoes have begun to form, feed weekly with a tomato fertilizer. Pinch out the side shoots, and one the plant has 4 trusses of fruit, pinch out the top of the plant to let the tomatoes develop properly. You will need to buy plants now, it's too late to plant seed in the UK.
buy a tomato plant you fool
i feed mine my with left over beer dreggs i get my local to save for me bette rthan any plant food.
