Hornet nest on my backyard tree?

There is average sized hornet nest on one of my trees. (those nest which look like hazel nuts). I hear they are dangerous, and since the nest is at hand, there is much more hornets around the house. And Personally, i don't similar to hornets.

I was thinking in the order of putting a fire under the nest and burn it. Do you cogitate it's a wise perception. I'm afraid it will burn the tree or the hornets will come out, and I'll be in trouble.

What do you ruminate I should do?

Answers:    I've removed LOTS of these from my land, freshly wait till just about 1 A.M. them take a long metal pole or something long that won't burn high-speed, wrap a rag around 1 conclude and put lighter fluid on it, light it up and consequently hold the fire under the nest, MAKE SURE IT'S RIGHT ON THE BOTTOM. The hornets will adjectives die because they will try to fly out and they will burn and so will the nest. My brother uses a water gun to soak them contained by gasoline the day past that way they move about up quicker but my way have worked for about 6 nests.
Get a can (or two) of wasp assassin spray. Wait until well after shadowy and then soak the nest from a sheltered distance--the cans are designed to spray 15 -20 ft. That should do the trick, but nearby may be a few left over so take heed and wait a few days until you are sure adjectives activity have ceased. If you are allergic to bee stings, hold someone who isn't do the hosing down.
leave it alone, winter is coming and they'll move, then u can knock it down
Yeh, Jeff W get this one. After dark they'll be contained by the nest for the night and even if you do spray the crap out of them you may still enjoy some not get a dose so watch out
It depends on how high up it is. if you can confidently reach it beside a large stone a short time ago chuck something heavy at it. On second thought simply go near hornet spray. The cans spray massively far, so if you can stand indoors and shoot it out a window or door that would be effective if they start swarming.
I believe under 60 degree it's to cold for bees to fly, knock the nest down then.

Use the spray that shoots out 15 to 20 feet and soak the nest till it's dripping. After that it's up to you, if you want to bulldoze the nest or leave it.

I wouldn't burn the nest, theres other the chance of losing control of the fire, why risk it?
Im a gutter cleaner and I run into bees adjectives the time. Ive found that a simple cup of gasoline will do the job. Get a roomy enough amount of fuel to soak the nest. The gas freezes the bees instantly. Keep a can of wasp spray handy for the survivors.
