A serious question?

Please only serious answers. How do you get rid of flies. I have a major fly problem at my house and it happens every year at this time. Last year we put those beer bag things on the front porch, but it stunk so bad and I think every fly in my town came to get in that bag. Every time I kill 3, 6 more appear. Where are they coming from and how do I get rid of them? They are driving me CRAZY! Thanks

Answers:
I've got a chicken/egg farm near me (the 'joys' of country living) and the best thing I've found is Safers Mosquito Patrol. It's a green plastic bottle you connect to your garden hose and spray all over. It keeps them away (along with all the other flying critters) for about a month (or until a good rain)! There is a similar product from Cutter called Bug Free Backyard that's in a gray/blue bottle but it only lasts 2 weeks (altho it's much more readily available).

Other answers:
um, fly tape? to hang from the ceiling and/or porch...i used to use those when i lived in the country...that, or bug lights? for at night...i guess you could always call pest control...
maybe there is something that attracts them when the weather is different...have a look around...:)

i got a venis fly trap and go to the store and ask a person that works there hope that works good luck
purchase a "bug zapper". Fly paper works too, but it is messy and you have to change them often.
well the 1st thing to do is make the place as spotlessly clean as possible and to put all food in the fridge and get rid of all garbage

then spray thoroughly with a fly spray in all rooms

then get some fly paper and hang it in the centre of each room

finally keep the place spotless and spray regularly and change the fly paper frequently
Chase them around the house and make sure u leave your doors and windows closed after killing them all. hope this helps

thanks for the 2 pts
Houseflies are attracted to heat and the smells of garbage. If the area in question is approximately the temperature of a rotting corpse, then lower the temperature.
pour watered down bleach in that area, hang up fly glue traps.... i have them bad too. seems they always come in with me. but its because my neighbor has a fish pond beside us and they are attracted to that. so maybe it isnt you, it could be something near you and you just happen to see them alot, like i do here at my place.
First of all close all openings in screens door ect.. make sure you are sanitary with garbage disposal use fly spray and continue to fight the little devils fly strips are gross kinda but they help but when I lived in southern IL I had a fly problem big time just keep fly spray on hand,is my best advise
All the answers ar good ones a farmer I worked for bought fly bait at a farmsupply, put it in different places outside on old watermelon rinds and it killed a lot of them.
You may need to fumigate. During winter flies will hibernate, sometimes in large groups, in any available dry and warm space such as an attic.
Check your flyscreens to make sure they are attached correctly and that there are no holes or gaps. Also give all the flyscreens, and door edges a spray with flyspray.
Hope this helps.
Hang the bait bags somewhere far away from the house so you don't attract them close to your doors and windows. You won't be bothered by the smell of the bait bag so much either.
