raccoons are so cute..why do you want them out of your backyard..?

Ask yourself why they are in your yard. Do you have food of any kind, perhaps a trash can back there? If you do remove the food, and as far as the trash can , pour bleach on the top of your trash they will leave it alone. If there is no available food they will probably move on.
buy one of those humane traps, take a can of tuna fish and poke small holes in the top so that they can smell it and use as bait. After you catch them take them at least five miles away and put them in the country or a park.
obtain a few landmines, make sure not to get the fully loaded ones, they might blow your house up, just the little explosion ones. plant them in your yard and steak out to see what happens!
Do you like your neighbors? If not then throw a bag of dog food into the neighbors yard. Or you could just have animal control come a set some "humane" traps.
