I use Olympic Weatherbeater.
I can get four to five years from it. I used to use Thompson's but you had to push it to get two years. It is too much work not to use the longest lasting.

Cover it? You use a water sealer. Re-apply yearly.
No, seal it with a waterproof sealer. This should be done every couple of years.
Nothing, it's hard wood.
i use trojan
keep covered sometimes, esp. if company comes over that u dont know
otherwise-its ok-made for indoor/outdoor ALL weather conditions-it will be ok
I have used the other coverings made specifically for decks in years past. None of them gave me as satisfactory protection from the weather as McCloskey's Man O' War Marine Spar Varnish. (I know it says not to use it to cover decks in the instructions on the can, but living in Oregon which rains a lot I couldn't resist covering my deck with it.) I'm glad I gave it a try. It really works like a charm. I put two coats on. The decks are now protected and they look very beautiful to boot!
Indoor/outdoor carpet. Then when it gets wet, you can use your leaf blower to dry it out.
My deck is actually stone, so it's a rock-hard deck. It's covered by screen. If you have wood, you might want to try Thompson's water sealant.
