what is the cause of beetles in the house ?
Answers:
Holes in the wall.
I don't know why but they don't seem to survive in the house. They have to come in. I found a hole under my kitchen window which I sealed with a sealing gun. I haven't seen a beetle since. I'm sure there must have been one or two or more already inside but I haven't seen them.
It used to be a ritual with a hoover and a torch to get rid of the things and I'm really glad it's over.

They just get in where they can.

Yeah I had that the other day. Paul McCartney I think, could have been Ringo but he scurried under the kitchen counter before I could scoop him up and throw him out the back door..
Bloody nuisance.
Heat and humidy. They thrive in that type of weather. They could come inside on a pet or your shoes. They can be in a bag from a store. You will notice when the weather changes, they will go away. Meanwhile spray with Raid.
First question- what sort of beetles? Many just wanderin by accident, but if you have wjhat may be an infestation its important to get the species identified (ask the nearest museum with an entymology department or the council, the museum is your best bet though!)
Once you know what they are you can determine why they are there. Many are harmless, some are definite pests. A few, like cockroaches are very hard to eradicate but most can be deterred with scrupulous hygiene as a lot just 'hoover up' crumbs, bits of decaying wood or whatever, get rid of their rhome/food and you get rid of the bugs. Drugstore beetles can be a pain to shift, but first you need to know what you have,
