I found it sucking on my lilac bush, I thought it was some sort of bee but it had a long beak for sucking and its wings moved like a hummingbird.

probably some insect in the sphynx family. My vote would be for a nessus sphynx, as they're pretty common. Another common possibility is a hummingbird clearwing moth.
