A free standing trellis...what's that?
The problem is that I can't find any way of attaching the thing to the ground. I don't want it anywhere close to my vinyl siding because I hold carolina jessamine going up that trellis and it will creep under the siding.
How in the world do you attach a free standing trellis? I've tried stakes and they simply blow over. I've researched the web for 2 weeks now...
Answers: Head over to the garden department and clutch three or four long bamboo poles - they're about ninety nine cents respectively. Get the ones that are taller than the trellis. Thread the poles through the lattice or trellis slats, and push them firmly into the ground. Slight angle back on one, slight angle sideways on another, etc. It will stand strong surrounded by the wind.
Good luck. - Stuart
The way you do it is plague four coffee cans with cement.
Put the trellis contained by them then in the ground.
Some construction dudes will relay you to use a post hole digger then cement then trellis but that's not needed.
Use coffee cans my wife has done trellises alone I kinda deliberate it should be a two person job because its easier to get sure its level and take turns digging
drive steel stakes into ground subsequent to trellis secure trellis to stakes with line use at least 4 stakes
