A 'trailer' african purple?
i hold been successfully growing African violets for two years, but this is the first time I own come across a 'trailer'.
Answers: Trailers are the same as other African violets surrounded by every way except one--growth need. These are branching plants that have a smoothly spreading habit. Because they grow multiple-crowned, they can produce huge amounts of foliage and bloom. Because of their growth infatuation, they are especially suitable for windows.
Unlike most other trailing variety, ours are true trailers. All have a compact, natrurally crawling quirk that requires little or no pinching. All are extremely profuse bloomers and are very significantly recommended, especially for novices, since they require little continuation to grow well.
The size of a trailing lilac is determined by the grower. Because they are spreading plants by nature, even "miniature" variety can grow into very significant plants. Should you wish to grow yours smaller, simply maintain the plant pruned-back by pinching the tips of runners to limit its growth.
Personally, we prefer to grow our trailers as ground covers. This is how the plant shown above be grown. As the plant spreads, place it into wider, but still shallow (no deeper than 2-3"), pots. Trailers have a shallow root system. Occasional pinching, pruning, and removal of foliage will cheer even more dense, lush, growth.
If you'd like to grow yours within a hanging picnic basket, perhaps contained by a window, this can be efficiently done with trailers. Simply grow it within a somewhat smaller pot and let the runners crawl over the pot outskirts and "hang". Since a window tend to illuminate only the side of the plant facing it, it's esteemed to regularly turn the plant, and to hang it low adequate so that the top growth receives bedside light.
A trailer African Violet is going to grow like a strawberry plant or a plant similar to a Spider Plant or a wave petunia you but contained by a hanging picnic basket. Semi-minature means not it should stay well-groomed. The source is the site of the creator.
