Absolutely as long as you have impracticable any harmful non-approved chemicals to grow them. Fresh, home-grown tomatoes are actually better for you than the ones you buy within the grocery because, as soon as vegetables are picked, they begin losing their nutrient value. Therefore, the smaller amount time between picking and eating the better.

There is an old song that say, "There're only two things that money can't buy and that's true love and home-grown tomatoes!"

Of course , we grow : corn , carrot , squash , peas , beans , potatoes , cucumbers , tomatoes , and even watermelon . And it's all in our backyard ! Yes, hugely safe. Home grown is the only channel to get a good taste tomato too. Tomatoes grown for the supermarket etc are picked green and gassed with ethylene to turn red.
ya. My grandparents enjoy a garden and have fruits and vegies in it. and they own tomatoes. We get them every year from them along with a total bunch of other stuff. it's always better fresh from a garden. :) Yes, your plants a re contained and not venerable to animals and and foreign substances getting into the ground and eventually into the plant.

Not only are they safer.but they taste soooooo much better than any tomato you can buy contained by the store. Yes and ohhh so yummy!! You can't get any better than homegrown.
