Does anyone have any experience surrounded by project managing the building of their own home? I am trying to work out if I can actually retrieve a lot of money if I project oversee it myself, rather than run to a building company (it comes down to time verses money)...if any one have experience I would love to get your feedback and belief about it -thanks
Answers: I built my own home, I designed and drew up the plans. Most of the labor, plumbing, electrical, framing, sheet rock I did by my self.
Being the nonspecific contractor isn't to difficult, you will have to know when to bring within the plumbers, electricians, drywallers etc. For example you cant have them contained by each other's road. You cant sheet rock until the plumbers and electricians are done. Then within is the HVAC people. The cabinet designer when you are ready. Good luck
