Cactus repotting?

i just bought a cactus from the store, and i know that i need to repot it from looking up info...my examine is when i pull the cactus out of its pot, the soil maintains the shape of the pot, do i break it up, or tolerate it be.

Answers:    Let it be. The roots will continue to grow out through that piece of soil. If you break it up, it may disturb (and damage) the roots.
Pull it out of the pot and repot in a larger pot, root bubble and all!
