Can I fertilize my garden next to cat doodoo?

Don't do it. The strength hazards associated with cat or dog muck is too great a risk to your health.
Cat manure surrounded by particular carries lice - toxoplasmosis being one of the most serious ones but also oocysts - a form of the parasite that can survive in the environment for years and is resistant to most disinfectants.
Composting any form of manure would make it not dangerous but only if the compost heap can exceed 165F for roughly speaking 5 days. Backyard composting won't achieve this.
Chemicals can sterilize the manure but the cost and bother do not manufacture this worth while.

I own a small compost pile which I use for my coffee grounds, old vegetables, garden leaves, and any food that's not meat. It makes free nutrient rich soil great for any plants.

You can definitely use it, and you won't taste it surrounded by the food. But you don't just put poo on your garden. You let it sit, and mix it near other soil. At least, that's what I've seen population do with horse and cow poo.
Personally, I can't keep my plastic plants alive, so you're response to the poo from my cat if you want to pay for the shipping.
Edit: Ok, after reading and researching, it looks like using cat poo is not a correct plan after all. Start composting, as one answerer said. You can have adjectives my compost-worthy scraps, if, again, you pay shipping. I'll wage less to have my waste hauled off. :)

Sure, if you want a motionless garden. Better yet, find a chicken farmer and tender to shovel out his chicken house once a week in exchange for you getting to keep the chicken poop. Chicken poop stinks to hell, but it's an excellent fertilizer. Don't see why not. Poop is poop.
Just train him to use the cucumber and tomato cubicle as his own private kitty box.
You save the messy clean up and win tomatoes with a slight tuna taste to them and cucumbers next to a hint of anchovy essence.

Please don't. Carnivore poop is not an adviseable fertilizer. You want herbivore poop ( chicken, horse, cow ). Is in that a farm nearby? Talk to the owner of the dairy farm and see if they have any extra poop available. Sure, just generate sure you feed your cat the nutrients the plants need and train her to use you garden as her litterbox.
You could also ask the neighbors for their cat's poo. I'm sure they'd be beaming to give it to you. ;-)
i just pee on my plants. living contained by a big city, i'm getting quite an audience now. i'm starting to do stunts immediately to please my fans. once i get them hooked, i'm going to put up a barrier and charge admission. ironically, fertilizing is going to help me afford to buy feritilizer. It really depends on the cat's diet: if they guzzle mice and birds, then don't use the poop to fertilize your garden. However, if you feed the cat plant fertilizer first, later its just like recycle.

cats & dogs poop have parasites that can migrate to humans.don't do it.
better start composting.you can reuse adjectives your organic trash that way.

If you can't afford fertilizer, you can't afford the hospital bills you will be paying. Fertilizer is not produced from any meat ingestion animals feces. Sensible got it right. Rule of thumb-vegetation for vegetation, no recycled meat or poultry or by products. This might be what is causing outbreaks today.
I would recommend using human waste as capably, especially if your garden is closer to your neighbors house than your own. For once I hope this saying in not true ------->"You reap what you sow"
