Velvet-flocked space abiding hanger (like QVC)--worth it?

A big retail store has knocked past its sell-by date those velvet-flocked hangers that were a big hit on QVC because they supposedly increase your closet space.

Has anyone gotten these hanger? How do you like them, and are they worth it? Do they really save THAT much space? I'm a girl next to a lot of clothes and not nearly as much closet space as I need. I'd abhor to waste money on replacement hangers if they aren't really that great...but they do look close to they'd save closet space.

Answers:    You got me curious so I looked around at the different reviews of these. Most articulate they do afford some more space because they're thinner than the tubular hangers, but they also complain of the the flocking flaking, the hassle of not being competent to slip your clothing item easily on and off the hanger, and the price (even the knockoffs were at about a dollar per hanger).

Personally, I wouldn't use them. You can use other traditional space in your favour techniques like storing sweaters and bulkier items surrounded by under-bed bins. Adding another pole to your closet to create a "double decker" storage area. Adding storage cubbies to the bottom half of your closet if you don't own enough height to donate another pole.

Or maybe it's time for a yard public sale? ;-)
