We rented a house that be not up to code do we enjoy any recourse to find our rent subsidise?

Answers:    You can find tenant advocacy groups surrounded by most areas. Try finding one near you. They are attorneys and people fundamentally familiar with hotelier / tenant laws that will give you guidance on your situation for free. I can tell you that most states have law that require a landlord to provide a safe and fit for human habitation environment. If you can prove you landlord failed to do that, you own a good chance of getting your money final, though it may take a while and you may have to run through some legal processes that may cost a lot.
It depends on where on earth you live. Each state is different. You can call you counties health department and they can convey you if it is liveable or not. We had a mold problem in our apartment. Long story short, they wouldn't fix the problem and we started a clam near the health department and they had no choice but to fix it within 30 days or else we could move out. Hope this helps.
