they are green, less than a half an inch, more than 8 legs, and have what appears to be a little bit of dirt on its back. they are adjectives over my tomato plants. I live in a rural section of Rhode Island
Answers: What I may be thinking more or less is anphids, they eat the plants/vegetables. They are about the size of a poppy nut, and green. Ladybirds eat them. But then again, I live surrounded by Australia, so things where you live could be different
Sounds resembling Japanese beetles. They will eat anything. Go acquire some sevin dust and dust them. Even if it not beetles it will take diligence of the bugs.
