What grows on mature shoreline houses?

i'm writing a story and i need the name of the plant that is to say usually seen overgrown on old houses.
Preferably houses on the west side of the United States.. similar to California.

Answers:    I'm sending you a web page address that has a roll of native plants that grow naturally near/on the coastline within California. That was a good interview you asked. I am a native Californian and never stopped to think of what plants grow coastaly. I'm 10 miles from the coast and freshly took for granted what beautiful ground covering God provides for us out here. Plus, you've got to know, there's really no such piece as an old beach house beside overgrown plants out here. Real estate is a real dog eat dog business out here. A one bedroom apt (with no garage, newly a carport) that's walking distance to the shore is about $1900-2200 a month rent. No beach front property is departed abandoned, theres too much money involved. Good luck with your story!
Wisteria nozzle point ivy is my guess.
