What is a raw opening to hold ants away, and/or eliminate them?

I've lived in my current house for about a year, and I've never have problems with ants.
All of a sudden, I find my bed crawling with them. I don't give up food around, nothing sweet at all. And I occasionally hold my windows open resembling I always have.
They seem to be to only be in my bed and no where on earth else around my home. I have animals so I'd like to use something fluent to kill them.
Any ideas?

Answers:    Mix some honey and borax and depart it where they can get to it (but save it away from the furbabies). They'll take it back to their colony and it will slay them all.

ETA: I've also heard that if you put peppermint essential grease on all door and window jambs, this keep ants away. And if you put fresh mint leaves in cupboards. Personally, I'm trying to kill them because at hand are TONS of them, and I can't seem to even cut down the number. So, even though keeping them away is great, they always come fund full force after awhile. Good luck!
Buy some amdros, you can buy it at Home Depot or Lowes. Put about a teaspoon of it out where they can carry it and when they take it back to the nest it will gun down the nest along with the queen.
