What is pious to receive rid of ticks from my patio.?

I live in NC and this year already have been ridiculous for ticks. They catch on my boyfriend and on my dog (they don't like me for some pretext, thankfully). My dog is on Advantix and it worked fine last year I don't deduce we saw one tick all year. This year nearby are tons of them. Is there anything that we can put down surrounded by our yard explicitly ok to have around the dog? We don't own any kids, but the dog lays outside, in out of the ordinary under the deck. Oh and we hold a garden, I don't want to put a ton of creepy chemicals in the garden.

We use Borax around the courtyard for fleas, but we have never have a problem with fleas, only stupid ticks. My boyfriend says they are lonestar ticks if that make any difference. We have an acre of arrive, so whatever we use I suppose we will own to treat the entire yard.

If you own advice I'd really appreciate it. We are picking one stale of my pup every week at least and one stale of boyfriend too.

Answers:    Lime can be used as an insect repellant, without cause harm to the pest or plant. Spinner style lime spreaders are largely used to spread agricultural lime on fields.
I live surrounded by NC too and boy are you right! There are products at Lowe's or Home Depot that can be spread over the yard next to a spreader. These will kill frequent kinds of bugs including fleas, ticks, ants, grubs (beetle larva), etc. I enjoy pets too. Just follow directions, keep pets indoors a couple of days til the poison have dispersed. Also I would not spread over your veggie garden as you will kill adjectives the Good bugs.
FYI, Borax is extremely poisonous to pets- be careful beside it.
