What is the best course to pick mulberries minus getting purple hand and keeping the berries intact?

I found a mulberry tree on a vacant lot near my house and picked a few berries. However, I hold purple stains on my hand from picking them. What is a better way to pick the berries?

Answers:    I other used small cutting shears or scissors. Sometimes you can pull them past its sell-by date by the stems, but if the berry is really ripe, the stem pulls off too. You can get some latex gloves at freshly about any pharmacy...they would protect your hands minus blocking your view of what you are doing like regular garden gloves because they are smaller number bulky. ;)
Mulberries are very sensitive to touch and stain easily. That is probably why they aren't very marketable. They are tasty though and a favorite of birds.

If you want to pick them use strong rubber or vinyl gloves. It's the only way to prevent the staining. These berries are impressively messy!
do you have an old, verbs blanket that you don't really care about? if so, spread it lower than the branches of the tree and shake them. they will fall on the blanket and you can fill a bucket or something beside the blanket. otherwise, i would suggest some latex or rubber gloves. Wear gloves. I happen to like disposable vinyl gloves
for adjectives my outdoor work, as well as housework. Just be gentle when you pick them, and use a shallow container so they don't obtain too deep and crush each other.

Good Luck!
Use rubber gloves.. Wear a restricted pair of gloves.
