What is the best track to pave a immensely long 600-ft long, 16-ft huge driveway?

asphalt? gravel? paving stones? What is the difference between each method within terms of cost, function, preservation that would be needed, etc.?

Thanks!

Answers:    It really really depends on a number of factor.

1. where are you and what climate are you contained by?
2. what kind of decor does your home own (and do you have a homeowner's association you stipulation to get approval from)
3. what benevolent of soil will you be putting it over?
4. what is the terrain like (flat, steep, etc.)
5. is there any munificent of water drainage that will involve to be taken into account.
7. will you hold trees along this road that will possibly cause root plunder at some point down the road
and last but not most minuscule 8. how much money do you have to spend?

I am not qualified, nor would anyone else be, to even start suggestions unless you had see and surveyed this property. Your really need to contact several driveway contractors within your area and catch options and bids.

My belief...the cheapest would be gravel. But upkeep on a gravel road is an issue if you don't enjoy one of those tractor mower type machines that you can add a drag on to so that you can drag the drive and remove ruts, etc. The devout point about a gravel driveway (if money is tight right in a minute, and who's is not)... Most of the other surfaces you mentioned, it's my understanding, start near a gravel driveway to which they add sand, and after top coat with the asphalt or the paving stones.
