What appetizing fruit tree should I plant?
The weather is hot and humid during the summer beside highs ranging between 90-95 F, though it can take up to 100 F.
Winter lows are around 30 (though it doesn't stay below freezing for more than a few hours), with average temperatues about 65 F.
Answers: My favorite is a cherry tree. Stands give or take a few 7 feet tall. Is 20 years ancient and our biggest problem is beating the birds to the fruit.
Citrus are probably best. Peaches are hard to grow in attendance as they need more chilling hours (below 40 degrees) than you usually go and get. Many orange trees are good down to 20 degree. Japanese persimmons are also good although they do get a bit ample. How about a grapevine? The grapes grown in Italy are graft onto the rootstock of native texas grapes. That is, many variety of grapes grow naturally in Texas. That would be my suggestion.
