Whats the best course to lighting a fire?

in my fireplace by the route

Answers:    Open the damper, and a window first. Use wadded up rag to ignite small twigs. Place larger pieces of wood on the twigs, until you are burning logs. Adjust the open windowpane for the best flame.
Lay some scrunched up broadsheet on the bottom, and on top of this lay strips of twisted weekly. Place thin firewood resting on this, and some thicker wood on top again. Next place some small lumps of coal over the wood. Next use a match to neutral the paper and when the wood starts to blaze put more coal on the fire
