What's the best method to trench underneath a sidewalk?

I'm installing sprinklers, and need to run a 3/4 inch pipe underneath the 3 ft wide sidewalk. Does anyone own any tips to make it easier?

Answers:    Dig from both sides, use sea (pistol grip) to excavate the center, then lay pipe.
You will want a rigid pipe or something similar longer than the span you are trying to go below by at least a foot or so, start by digging a trench on one side cavernous enough to dance under the concrete and long satisfactory to lay the pipe down into the trench, you will need a sledge sledge hammer at least a 2.5 pound or larger to drive the pipe beneath the concrete, as you are driving the pipe through try to keep the pipe as horizontal as you can and move the pipe in a circular motion to increase the hole its making ie: it will make it easier removing the pipe, be sure to trademark a hole large plenty on the other side to recieve the pipe. Good Luck
