Where might an Ants nest be?

If they are all over my living room? Are ants nocturnal?

Answers:    Ants are attracted to sugar andif you munch through in the living room, i.e. their place of attack.
I just have house done and ORKIN, one ofthe best, came and treated my house. He say that they live in the walls and within the windows sills.
Window sills are repeatedly rotted inside and the ants travel through there. They come out at hours of darkness because theiris no traffic. If you kill ants and vacate them on the floor, the other ants will drag them to their nest and use it as food.
First of all, ants are neither nocturnal or diurnal. They seldom "sleep" surrounded by the conventional sense.

Ants are also extremely inventive with their hiding places. I found an entire colony inside the plaster surrounding my hip bath in the end house I lived in. If in attendance are any discernable trails, follow them as far as you can.

And if you want to stop the invasion, get some long-term insect repellent that stays put, and place it at every place where on earth the trail disappears. The ants will likely find another opening in, but eventually you should know how to narrow it down and find their primary location.
if you are have ants in your house the nest is expected to be outside in the garden. The concluding 2 yrs they have be megabreeding in the UK. The council will not remove ant nests that are outside.
They tend to come contained by under doors, from inside the walls of the house and through airbricks. Also check around the sink drainpipe.
Keep food surrounded by plastic containers, don't leave pet food out and mop up at tiniest once a day to stop them coming surrounded by from outside. Last year I had them within my living room my dogs food was attracting them inside. I freaked out when soon I picked up his bowl and hundreds were contained by there. Yuck!
ant traps and nippon gel work in good health. The nippon gel gets carried support to the nest and fed to the queen/s
Follow the little bridle path that they all follow and see where on earth they are coming from. Leave a little pile of sugar contained by the room and see where they run it.
They are most likely to be coming through the brickwork and up bringing up the rear the skirting board, or through a gap by a pane frame. I don't think ants would build a nest indoors, especially if you've not be aware of them before in a minute.
