Answers:    They're in shock. The swim bladder equilibrium problem (floating on their sides) is a symptom. Causes of the shock could be chemicals surrounded by the water or not properly acclimating them when you brought them home.

First, if the pond is a moment ago built, what materials was it built from, some plastics can leach chemicals into the wet for several months. Get your plants started and introduce the fish next year.

Second where on earth is the water coming from? If you enjoy chlorinated water feed into the pond you'll need to crowd it, then run the filtration pump at lowest possible 24 hours to resolve the issue. If it's runoff there can be adjectives kinds of chemicals from the road etc...

Third, when you bring the pouch of fish home place them bag and adjectives into the pond for 12 hours before releasing them.

Hope that help.
it sounds to me like they hold been overfed. as fish solely have small tummies, to much food will craft the tummy "rise" to the surface. It happened beside my fish. I would leave them for more or less 2 days without feed them, the problem should rectify itself. Do keep a close eye on them though
