Why do ethnic group surrounded by America build their homes out of wood?
Answers: I am living in S. California, same as midwest, using wood frame, partical boards. CHEAP stuff!
Can't resist earthquake or tonardo, the builders don't support, because the concrete building are more costly, and take long long time to 'cure'.
These builders solitary want to take in haste, easy money, they don't trouble who you are!

As European settlers begin to populate (invade) America, the nee for building materials was paramount. As anti the customary stone materials used predominantly in Europe, timber become the prefered material mostly from an use standpoint. The need to clear lands to begin near,combined with the much more labor intensive feat of mining stone made lumber materials the obvious choice. As hasty Europeans began to move west,lumber remained the most plentiful building textile for construction. Modern "stick built" homes notwithstanding,log homes are far superior to even brick and mortar as well as concrete.Once completed,log homes beside the interlocking ystem,are by far more durable than brick or stone.Especially when considering inclemate weather. There is far less movement involved next to this type of structure.
