Why would here be sink holes on south Texas?
Answers: The answer can be 1 of several. Like answer 1 said lack of ground wet supporting the surface, or something else taken out of the underground. If you have lime stone and acerbic (maybe like tart rain depending on the composition of the lime) creeps into the lime stone holes or voids surrounded by the rock can result. with the rock gone that once supported the surface, freshly like the hose supporting the surface in answer 1 above, the surface cant hold up its own bulk and collapses. This creates a sinkhole. 1 more thing I diaphanous of is a broke water key. If the material around the wet line have a place to go beside the leaking dampen, a sink hole is almost always adjectives but the water usually comes out on top and you cant see the hole til the river is gone.
Underground water - sometimes when it is really dry and the underground wet aquifer goes down within is a resulting sink hole "up top"
