Will a 2 1/2 ton crucial a/c/ cool a 1300 sq. ft. 2 floor home?

Answers:    That sounds like it should be sufficient. The more just the thing situation would be to have a 1 1/2 ton unit for the bottom floor and a 1 ton for the upper floor, but a single part should suffice.
It also really depends on your climate. I have 1600 sq ft home (1f) and a 3 ton could not keep up. I replaced it next to a 3.5 ton Lennox and it works great. I have a high ceiling surrounded by the den.
But I live in Texas. One rule of thumb I have other heard is you need a ton for every 500 sq ft. So I would regard 3 ton unit
would work better.
A two and a half ton component should do just fine. Unless the house is not well insulated, or if the trees hold out little direct shade, then a 3-ton unit might be more appropriate. sounds dutiful . , and if not then in recent times keep the a.c on longer and lower
